Homework: Expect class work and/or homework to be assigned for each class session. It is extremely important that you work out every problem, as both the guided and independent practices that you will get are critical to your foundational understanding of mathematics, and also to you retaining the course material. It is expected that assigned homework will be completed for the following class session. If the homework due date happens to fall on a test day, the homework must be turned in prior to the test. Late homework is not accepted.
Chapter Tests: Tests are closed book, but you may use a calculator.
Final Exam: A comprehensive final exam covering the entire course content will be given on Tuesday, May 8th, 2007 from 8-10am.
Academic Dishonesty: The University’s policy on cheating shall be strictly enforced.
Attendance: Attendance is expected at each class meeting. Please be certain to bring your text and a calculator each day. In the event of an absence, you will be responsible for the material covered in class in addition to any class work and/or homework assigned. (See the PLNU Catalog for a statement of the University's attendance policy.) It should be further noted that regular and punctual attendance is essential to your success in this class.
Extra Help: You are always encouraged to come to my office hours. Also, free tutoring is available in the Math Learning Center located in Rohr Science, room RS- 230. Regular hours are posted on the door.
Accommodations: All students are expected to meet the standards for this course as set by the instructor. However, students with learning disabilities who may need accommodations should discuss available options during the first two weeks of the semester and should provide approved documentation and verification of need. The Academic Support Center is available to students for assistance with documentation and specialized tutorial needs.
