This CD debuts the choir under the direction of Professor Dan Jackson.  Music featured will appeal to many with both classical and contemporary styles.  Songs include Mendelssohn's "Kyrie," the hymn "Softly and Tenderly," Byron Smith's "Shout Glory," and the title song, Wayne Watson's "For Such a Time as This."

FIRE AND MEDITATION


Fire and Meditation A collection of works for choir that have also been transcribed for band. Some of the great works of choral literature have been transcribed, and are performed on this CD. Randall Thompson's "Alleluia," Tschesnokov's "Salvation is Created," and Biebl's "Ave Maria" are but three of the works both sung by the choir and then played by the band. In addition, the Concert Band and the Concert Choir collaborated on two works- "Pentecostal Fire is Falling" and Wilhousky's "Battle Hymn of the Republic."
