RESIDENT DIRECTORS

Sara Morrill

Resident Director of Nease Hall - Floors 1-4
After spending two years at Azusa Pacific University completing her Master of Education in College Student Affairs Sara is thrilled to be back at PLNU this year serving as the Resident Director for floors 1-4. As an undergraduate student Sara loved her experience at PLNU, she was a track and field athlete, a Psychology major, served as the Great Escapes coordinator, studied abroad, and loved hanging out around campus with her best friend and now husband, Josh. A San Diego native, Sara loves being outdoors and has a passion for working with college students as they develop their identity, form relationships, and find God in new and magnificent ways.

 Danielle Brown

Danielle Brown

Resident Director of Nease Hall - Floors 5-8

A PLNU alumna, Danielle claims to bleed green and gold in love for her alma mater. After walking across the Greek and receiving her BA in Management and Organizational Communications, she chose a life committed to higher education by pursuing a Masters of Education in Student Affairs while serving as the Assistant Director of the North Village Residential Community at Baylor University. When Point Loma called her home, Danielle enthusiastically agreed to take the Resident Director position and finished her graduate work at Alliant International University in December of 2006.  Danielle is devoted to the women who live and learn in Nease Hall. When she is not working or with students, Danielle is invested in her local church, Church of the Nazarene in Mid-City, and enjoys the life offered by San Diego – Balboa Park, the beach, the San Diego Bay,  and of course, Santanas.

Carisa Ireland

Sophomore- Liberal Studies/ Child Development Major

Carisa choose to be an RA because she loves to meet new friends She also wants to be an RA because she loves to serve God by serving others. Carisa believes the best part of PLNU is the sense of community and family and hopes to bring this to those around her. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, knitting, crafts, kids, family and friends, and going to the beach.

Senior- Business Administration: International Development Studies Major

Rooms 113-124
Vanessa chose to be an RA because she loves spending time investing in people and believes that the first years of college are such an invaluable time in life, and wants to be there to support students in this time. She believes the best part of PLNU is the fact that she is supported in every direction by a strong Christian body, allowing God to best shape her into who He wants her to become. And the sunsets. She enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, kids, sunsets, French, youth ministry, and watching The Office.

Sophomore- Consumer/Environmental Sciences Major

Rooms 200-212

Erin chose to be an RA because she loves encouraging and hanging out with those around her. She believes that the time here at Point Loma is full of opportunity and excitement, as well as a time for growth in intellect and closeness to Christ. She enjoys fashion design, art, running, hair dye and very strong coffee.

Johannna (Jo) Boyd

Sophomore- Communication Disorders Major

Johanna chose to be an RA because she loves making relationships with people and helping others become connected.  Her goal is to create a fun hall where girls can grow in their relationship with God as well as in their relationships with each other. Johanna's favorite part of PLNU is the amazing, friendly, and happy students who attend here. Johanna loves long walks, driving at night, meeting new people, watching old movies, having tea time with her roommate, talking on the phone with her six year old sister, praise and worship chapels, and playing dress up.

Junior -Literature Major

Taylor chose to be an RA because of her love for people and life. She loves sitting for coffee and learning about people's lives, and being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by living for him. Her favorite thing about PLNU is the level of depth and kindness that permeates the whole campus. She also loves chapel, and the diciples that PLNU is making. She enjoys life, music, writing, reading, and anything as long as it's outside.

Rachel chose to be an RA because she knew it would be a great opportunity to glorify Christ through service to others.  Her favorite things about PLNU are the people and the never-ending supply of Orange Fanta and peanut butter in the caf (preferably not together).  She enjoys celebrating Christmas year-round, the Office, family, aviation, and cheesecake.

Kasie chose to be an RA because she wants to be a role model for incoming girls. She feels the best part of PLNU are all the friendships she has with the girls on her hall and she wouldn't change that for the world. She enjoys laughing, having fun, singing, and meeting new people.

Senior- Social Science and Theatre Major

Kaitlin chose to be an RA because she loves building friendships and creating life long memories.  She is looking forward to creating those memories and helping girls transition into their first year of college.  She believes the best part of PLNU is the community and the growth, both spiritual and intellectual, that is encouraged by the staff and faculty on campus.  She has made her best friends here at point loma and hopes other will have the same experience.  Kaitlin loves music, daisies, taking photos, laughing and theater.  She enjoys watching movies and is always up for an adventure.

Emily wants to be an RA because she truly has a passion for people. She loves to have fun and wants to make her girl's experience at Point Loma the best it can be. She knows that this school is amazing with tons of potential for growth. Emily says that the best part about Point Loma is that it really becomes a home away from home, and your best friends become more like family. She loves to learn from others and longs to build a community of friendship on the hall. She enjoys quality time with her friends and family, getting to know new people, running, frozen yogurt. She cannot wait for the year to begin!

Kimberlee chose to be an RA because of the immense opportunity it holds to serve others while making amazing friendships. The best part of Point Loma would either be the location or the people. The sunsets are breathtaking and the friendships she has made will last a lifetime. Kimberlee enjoys discussing current events, listening to music and going to the beach whenever she can!

Jocelyn wanted to be an RA because she loves meeting new people and learning about and sharing in their experiences. The best part of Point Loma is the environment overall. The professors are great, the students are so fun, and San Diego cannot be beat. She enjoys living in Boston, foreign films, going for walks around Point Loma, working at Starbucks, and more than anything, she loves to laugh.

Stefanie chose to be an RA because her first two years at Point Loma were shaped by the experiences she had in Nease with the fellow girls on her hall as well as her amazing RA. She thinks that the best part of Point Loma is the community. She believes passionately in the individual, but also in what everyone can learn from one another. She enjoys all forms of Art, playing the harmonica, music and life in general.

Because of the impact earlier Resident Assistants made on her and the other students on the hall, Katie chose to be an R.A. to be a support for incoming women, and hopefully make an impact on them and learn with them as they grow and question during their time here at PLNU. The most enjoyable part of Point Loma for her is the ability to create strong, lasting friendships and the feeling of a smaller, intimate community. Katie enjoys road trips, photography, walking, camping, playing guitar, helping out with Jr. High youth group, and loves to try new things.

Sophomore - Psychology Major

Merri chose to be an R.A. because she thrives on building deep relationships with others. She loves listening to anyone's life stories and is excited to learn from and impact the girls on 8th Floor Nease. Merri loves Point Loma because of the atmosphere of acceptance and grace found throughout campus. Meeting new people is so easy at Point Loma and this makes her smile. Merri enjoys learning Spanish, backpacking, waking up early, having conversations that go past the surface, playing marimba and drums, eating, and smiling.

Sophomore - Undeclared, Spanish Minor

Chelsea chose to be an RA because she is passionate about building relationships with people. She enjoys walking with people through their experiences and seeing how growth occurs in their lives. She believes the best part of PLNU is the atmosphere that encourages learning in all areas of life and the wonderful people that she comes in contact with. She enjoys running, playing tennis, getting to know people one on one, learning from others, and taking time to remember all that she has been blessed with in her life.
