Point Loma Nazarene University is partnering with the San Diego Natural History Museum as a sponsor for the museum’s Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit, which will begin in June. As a part of that partnership, PLNU is hosting educational lectures that precede the exhibit, including a series of Dead Sea Scrolls lectures. The lectures are part of PLNU's Wiley Lectures in Theology.
Beginning on Monday, Feb. 5 and running through Feb. 7, Dr. James VanderKam, a Dead Sea Scrolls scholar from the University of Notre Dame, will offer four lectures in the Fermanian Business Center. PLNU faculty members Drs. John Wright and Brad Kelle will serve as moderators for the lectures. Dr. Enedina Martinez will serve as a curriculum consultant for the materials that will be used by the museum for teachers and students across the country.
The exhibit will run from June 29 to Dec. 31, 2007. For more information please visit the Museum's Dead Sea Scrolls Web site at http://www.sdnhm.org/scrolls/
