Dr. John Wright’s work, Conflicting Allegiances – The Church-Based University in a Liberal Democratic Society, co-authored with Michael Budde, has earned them the distinguished honor of being chosen as one of four finalists for the 2006 Lilly Fellow Program Book Award.
According to its Web site, the Lilly Fellow Program Book Award “honors an original and imaginative work from any academic discipline that best exemplifies the central ideas and principles animating the Lilly Fellows Program. These include faith and learning in the Christian intellectual tradition, the vocation of teaching and scholarship, and the history, theory or practice of the university as the site of religious inquiry and culture.”
Wright is a professor in the School of Theology and Christian Ministry. Budde is a professor and chair for the Department of Political Science at DePaul University. The book can be purchased by visiting Brazos Press.
