PLNU remembers Lois Brown

Lois Brown, mother-in-law of Southern Nazarene University president Dr. Loren Gresham, passed away on Jan. 25 in Bethany Oklahoma. Mrs. Brown was the widow of former PLNU president Dr. Shelburne Brown, who was the university's 11th president.

Brown was one of the most influential presidents in the university's history. His efforts brought about the school's move to San Diego from Pasadena in 1973. Mrs. Brown was key to the establishment of the Women's Auxiliary, which supports endeavors of improvement across the campus, and has for more than 30 years.

According to Dr. Brower, the Browns' effective and loving leadership of the college through times of transition and progress, place them in the center of our gratitude as we enjoy the blessings of this wonderful place and university here on the Point.

Arrangements for a memorial service have been made for Tuesday, Jan. 30 in Oklahoma. Please join Dr. Brower, the administration and the rest of the Nazarene community as we keep the Gresham and Brown families in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
