Point Loma Nazarene University President Bob Brower was recently named chairman of the board for the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) at the council’s 31st Annual Presidents’ Conference on Feb. 1. Brower had been serving as vice chair before this appointment to chair the board, a post in which he will serve for two years.
“I am very pleased that President Brower’s significant leadership in developing Point Loma has been recognized by his colleagues in selecting him to chair the Council’s Board of Directors,” said Dr. Paul R. Corts, CCCU President. “Dr. Brower has a great vision for robust Christ-centered higher education, including a heart for international expansion, and I look forward to working with him over the next two years as we continue to grow and expand the programs and work of the Council.”
Carl Zylstra, president of Dordt College (IA), became the vice chair for a one-year term. Jon Wallace, president of Azusa Pacific University (CA), was reelected to another term as the secretary/treasurer. Additionally, the decision was made to expand the size of the board from 17 to 18 members.
