Where Can I Go?
PLNU students have studied in programs all over the world. There are accredited
programs in almost every country on the planet.
When Should I Go?
You can almost anytime during your college career. Most of our students go
sometime between their sophomore and senior years.
Will A Semester Abroad Delay My Graduation?
No, in most cases a semester abroad will fit in the program of study for any major.
Will The Credits Transfer?
Yes, if you intend any program approved by the PLNU Office of International Studies
all of the credits in which you enroll will transfer. The OIS staff will
provide advising so that many of the courses will meet PLNU general education or
major requirements.
How Much Will It Cost?
There are semester abroad programs to fit almost any budget.
Some are less than the cost of a semester at PLNU (including travel).
Will My Financial Aid Apply?
All state and federal financial aid will apply.
PLNU financial aid will apply only if the semester abroad is required as a part of your major.
Are There Any Extra Costs?
In addition to all semester abroad experiences, there is a $450.00 international studies fee for semester long programs
and a $250.00 fee for Summer programs.
Are There Scholarships Available?
Many of the study abroad programs offer financial aid to their students.
That information can be obtained directly from the program providers.
There is also a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship that is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State,
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Information on the Gilman Scholarship may be found at
