After Hours / Emergency Support

The ITS Help Desk hours of telephone operation (x4357) are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

If you have a work related computer emergency after hours, you may contact a technician by calling the ITS Help Desk voice mail at (x4357), leaving a voice mail message and marking it as urgent. A technician will be paged automatically and will return your call as soon as possible.

Note: For non-emergency situations, please call the ITS Help Desk voice mail at x4357 and leave a message. A Help Desk technician will return your call the following business day.

On-call support hours for technicians are Monday through Friday from 4:30pm to 10:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

Qualifications for an "emergency" are as follows:
  • Unable to access the Internet (Web browser – Netscape or Internet Explorer)
  • Unable to connect to a file share (e.g. Socrates, Zeus)
  • Trouble logging in to the PLNU network 
  • Printing (only if you are unable to print to any departmental printers, or unable to print from the Computer Lab as an alternative)
Please note that general questions and non-PLNU computer problems should not be considered emergencies.

From off campus: Dial (619) 849-7070, when the greeting begins, dial x4357, leave a message and press # 1 2 at the end of your recorded message.

A technician will attempt to return your call within 30 minutes.
