April 2008 Edition
GREETINGS FROM POINT LOMA NAZARENE UNIVERSITY!
We had a wonderful time during our first ever Family Weekend at PLNU. Parents, grandparents, and students came together for this special event on March 14 and 15. It was a pleasure meeting those of you who were able to attend. I hope that all of you are able to attend our Parent and Grandparent Weekends next year. We would love to see you again!
Please take a look at our photo gallery and also our video on YouTube
so you can see what the weekend included!
We look forward to creating more memories with you here at PLNU!
Blessings,
Jen Huchingson

Believe it or not, it is already that time of year! The campus is full of excitement over Summer and Fall 2008 registration and Room Selection for next year.
Please be aware that your student will not be able to register for classes or (therefore) participate in room selection unless his/her account is paid in full. Each student is being encouraged to check his/her account online to make sure that the account is current and that no holds have been placed.
Also, (unless we were aware of extenuating circumstances) pending aid was not considered when placing financial holds. By now, all pending aid should have been applied to the account.
Please contact us right away if you have any questions about your student’s statement or account. We are called and committed to serving you and your students. We can be reached at 619-849-2538 or sfs@pointloma.edu. It has been a pleasure working with you and your students this year!

CAREER SERVICES UPCOMING EVENTS
Below you will find information about some opportunities available to students through Career Services. All students are encouraged to participate in the events coming up this month:
The Etiquette Dinner takes place on Monday, April 7th at 5:00 p.m. in the Cunningham Dining Room (please note the new date). This event is offered to students so that:
Each participant will be introduced to the basic social graces
To instill in participants a sense of self-confidence in varied social and employment situations they will face
To provide a framework for comfortable and respectful interaction with others
This meal would cost $40.00 - $50.00 in a fancy restaurant, but their cost for our event is just $16.00. Come to Career Services in the Bond Academic Center to sign up.
On April 16th, students will have the chance to talk with corporate recruiters about their companies and the types of job opportunities they have at our 22nd Annual Career/Job Fair. Some companies will hire students for summer internships while others are more than happy to talk with students about the type of students they are looking for. This will help students prepare for future career opportunities.
Seniors can kick off graduation festivities by attending the Senior Dessert co-sponsored by Career Services and the Alumni Association. They will be treated to some wonderful desserts, have their questions about the graduation ceremony answered and possibly win one of the many door prizes that will be given away. Students will also be able to pick up their Senior Celebration tickets (free). This event takes place on Thursday, April 17th beginning at 6:15 p.m. on the Alumni Lawn.
Career Job Fair on campus:
April 16, 2008, Campus Mall, 10:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
