Reporting a Crime or Incident

On Campus Crimes or Incidents:

Crimes or concerns occurring on the PLNU campus can be reported in person or by calling the Department of Public Safety at (619)849-2525 at any time of the day or night and a Public Safety Officer will be dispatched to immediately assist you. 

If an emergency is in progress, campus dispatch will notify 911 and officers mobilized to coordinate and assist emergency services.

If 911 has already been contacted, please contact Public Safety at ext. 2525, so they may direct and assist services arriving on campus.

Theft:

When reporting a theft, to expedite the investigation, please print out and fill out the following form to expedite the investigation or contact Public Safety immediately upon discovery of missing property. Please include item value, serial number and a photo (if available). as well as the time frame of the item in question last seen. Once completed, please call ext. 2525 to immediately meet with a Public Safety Officer.

Vehicle Accident Reporting:

The Department of Public Safety also investigates vehicle accidents occurring on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University. If you are involved in a vehicle accident on campus, please call 619.849.2546. If possible, do not leave the scene. A Public or Community Service Officer will be dispatched to assess and document the incident.    

Violent Crime Reporting:

Point Loma Nazarene University takes the physical and mental well being of the campus community very seriously. All incidents of domestic, physical and/or sexual assault will be addressed immediately with confidentiality and discretion.

Please contact Public Safety at ext. 2525 and a Public Safety Officer will render immediate assistance. Emergency resources also will be contacted and campus counseling and wellness resources will be involved as well.

Additional Official University Reporting Contacts:

In addition to the reporting of incidents to the Public Safety Department, the following contacts are campus authorities to which reports may also be made. Information from these reports will also be used for the purpose of making timely warnings of criminal offenses as deemed necessary.

Crimes occurring off campus should be reported to the San Diego Police Department at (619)531-2000.
