The PLNU department of Public Safety investigates campus related incidents and notifies the San Diego Police Department when required. The university strongly encourages victims and witnesses to report all crimes and incidents to the department of Public Safety at once, regardless of their nature. Prompt reporting of suspicious activity will deter crime. If an individual’s actions are out of character and you become suspicious, call the department of Public Safety. A community service or public safety officer will assess the situation and take appropriate action.

Crimes occurring on the PLNU campus can be reported in person or by calling the department of Public Safety at 619.849.2546 during the day and or night. Crimes occurring off campus should be immediately reported to the San Diego Police Department at 619.531.2000.

In addition to reporting of incidents to the Public Safety Department, the following are campus authorities to which reports can be made: increporting

  • Director of Public Safety
  • Vice President for Student Development
  • Dean of Students
  • Associate Dean of Students - Academics
  • Athletic Director
  • Coaches
Information reported by the identified offices will also be used for the purpose of making timely warnings of criminal offenses.

In order to keep personal injuries at a minimum, you are encouraged to report observed physical hazards to the department of Public Safety 619.849.2546 or Physical Plant 619.849.2320.
