Point Loma Nazarene University is pleased to announce the Loma Learning Communities (LLCs) for the 2008-2009 academic year. LLCs are an exciting opportunity for students to enhance their residential experience by joining a community that has common purpose, goals, and activities.
Research in Higher Education indicates that students who are part of an LLC achieve significantly higher grades, are intellectually stimulated, are more likely to graduate, and have greater developmental growth. Students participating in LLCs are also more satisfied with their residential and academic experiences. This is true at PLNU as well.

LLC Requirements and Expectations
- Students must commit to the entire 2008-2009 school year.
- All LLCs meet at least once a week for one hour.
- Students are required to participate in LLC group and community outreach activities. View the LLC program descriptions for more details.
- Cost to participate is $100 PER SEMESTER. This fee is used exclusively by the LLC to provide programming, supplies, field trips, and in some cases books. This fee will be billed to your student account as with other school charges.

All students are invited to an informational meeting on Loma Learning Communities (LLCs). Concepts, ideas, and how to apply will be covered. Group and individual application packets will be available immediately following the meeting.
A Loma Learning Community (LLC) is a group of 5 or more students who are committed to a common passion and mission. Living together in a residence hall or Flex apartment, each LLC has specific academic or extra-curricular programming designed by the Resident Director. It is strongly recommended that as many of your group as possible attend this meeting.
