Bookish Hooligans
(For Freshmen and Sophomores). Located in Young Unit O - 13 spaces.
Bookish Hooligans will primarily read and focus on modern popular literature and poetry, meeting weekly over dinner. The goal of this living community will be to learn the importance of reading and interpreting popular culture from a Christian perspective. Bookish Hooligans will participate in National Novel Writing Month wherein the challenge is to create a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. The group will also participate in university sponsored events relating to the written word.
Options for Women:
A Journey through Freshman Year - Using journaling, scrap booking and stamping to document your first year at Point Loma.
(For Freshman). Located in First South Klassen Hall – 20 spaces.
How do you want to remember your freshman year? Will you journal? Take pictures? Call home to Mom and Dad? We have a unique opportunity in Klassen Hall, for women to live together and create long lasting memories. We will use a variety of creative methods: scrap booking, photography, journaling, and stamping to document the feelings, challenges, struggles, relationships, fun times, hard times, and growth that comes with college life. At the end of the year, you will walk away with an album with over 30 pages of your life changing experiences. (Syllabus)
