Renewed Understanding: A Living Learning Community formed by a Wesleyan Perspective of the Monastic Community.
Nease Hall: 12 spaces for Sophomore-Senior Women
Flex Housing: 5 or 10 spaces for Junior-Senior Men
This LLC is grounded in God’s love and draws on the rich tradition of Christian practices that have long formed disciples in the simple Way of Christ. Using the provided wisdom of the Rule of St. Benedict, we will seek a renewed understanding of the Gospel, the Kingdom, and our place within both. Accompanying the curriculum of Christian Tradition, taught by John Wright, we will commit to a common life and to intentional communal practices: Weekly scripture readings, prayer, hospitality, simple meals, Eucharist, Works of Mercy, and a disciplined contemplative life. This is a unique living experience held for those who desire to learn and practice a lifestyle in imitation of Christ. For more details on this LLC an outlined syllabus is available on the Residential Life website or please contact Danielle Brown at DanielleBrown@pointloma.edu.
