Paul R. Bassett:
Managing and Artistic Director
Paul R. Bassett studied under Paul Baker, the founding director of the Dallas Theater Center. At the Dallas Theater Center, Dr. Bassett designed the touring set for The Oldest Living Graduate by Preston Jones and was the assistant designer for the Southwestern premier of Equus. Also while there, two of his plays--
War Zone and
Inside the White Room--were premiered on its Down Centre Stage. Since arriving at PLNU in 1978, he has directed and/or designed over 80 productions, among them
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Glass Menagerie, Antigone, The Runner Stumbles, Black Comedy, The Crucible, Tartuffe, Othello, The Children's Hour, The Fantasticks, The Miracle Worker, The Nerd, Romeo and Juliet, Godspell, The Real Inspector Hound, The Boys Next Door, The Servant of Two Masters, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Twelfth Night and
Into the Woods.. He holds an MFA from Trinity University and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law.

Walter O. Williams:
Director
Walter O. Williams studied acting at University of California Santa Barbara, directing at UCLA, and stage management at the Yale School of Drama. He has had the opportunity to work with and learn from many talented individuals including Joseph Chaikin, Robert Woodruff, Andre Belgrader, George Schaefer, Michael Gordon, and John Guare. Some of the productions he has been involved in include world premieres of East of Eden at the Western Stage, Struck Dumb at the Mark Taper Forum/Taper Too, Moon over Miami at the Yale Repertory Theater, and King Roger at the Long Beach Opera. Since his arrival at Point Loma, he has designed sets for
Into the Woods, Twelfth Night, The Nerd, Sound of Music, Relative Terms, and
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) and has directed
Waiting for Godot, Talley's Folly, Arsenic and Old Lace, Uncle Vanya and The Star Spangled Girl. Walter Williams holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Regent University, and has taught at Hampton University and Norfolk State University, both in Virginia.

Ronda Rice Winderl:
Director
Ronda Rice Winderl studied directing and theatre history at New York University and at Emerson College in Boston. Dr. Winderl founded the Communication Arts Department and the Theatre Program at Eastern Nazarene college where she directed and/or produced 94 productions over 26 seasons and developed an extensive educational resource program for school audiences. She worked with Stephen Schwartz in the development process of the musical
Children of Eden (book by John Caird) and both directed and choreographed its non-commercial US premiere in Boston. Dr. Winderl was nominated as Best Director in 1999 by the Independent Reviewers of New England (the only academic theatre nominee), and received the Faculty Professional Achievement award at ENC that year. She spent sabbaticals studying at the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain and a year researching and teaching theatre in Japan, and in 2002 and 2003 was appointed as a Visiting Scholar to China. She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from New York University and an MA in directing from Emerson College Dr. Winderl and her husband Dr. Carl Winderl have traveled extensively and have organized theatre/literature study trips (primarily in Great Britain) for over 250 students. Most recently, she directed
You Can't Take It With You, which had a very successful run last Spring.

Brian Redfern:

Brian Redfern, a 2001 graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University, is currently enrolled in a graduate program in design and production through Southern Oregon University. He has been teaching at Scripps Ranch High School since 2003, teaching courses in theatre as well as serving as director, technical director, or designer for thirteen school plays the past three years. Most recently, he designed the set of
