Professional Clear Level II

Point Loma Nazarene University is fully committed to strategically preparing teachers to serve and support students with special needs in K-12 classrooms. The School of Education offers two key types of special education credentials:

  • Mild Moderate
  • Moderate Severe

All special education teachers are required to have an induction plan established with an institution of higher education within 120 days of employment after receiving their preliminary credential.

Point Loma's School of Education partners closely with specific K-12 public school districts to provide a relevant Level II course of study directly focused on their classroom assignments.

Special education teachers participating in BTSA can seamlessly earn their Level II credential as they complete their BTSA requirements. The PLNU Level II program extends and deepens their work in induction.

Level II coursework is often combined with the M.A. with a concentration in Special Education.
