Multiple or Single Subject Clear Credential

Multiple or Single Subject Clear Credential Unknown (or inaccessible) property:CurrentPageVersion.PageID

Clear Credential (30 Post B.A. Units and Advanced Coursework)

All preliminary single subject credential graduates working in K-12 public schools will obtain their clear credential as part of a BTSA Induction program provided by public school districts and consortia of school districts and county offices of education.

The School of Education offers an approved 2042 Clear Program for private school, charter school, and out-of-state teachers who have the option of clearing their preliminary credential with an alternative program to BTSA Induction  as indicated on their preliminary credential.

The PLNU clear credential program requires 30 post B.A. units including four advanced credential courses taken AFTER the completion of the preliminary credential:
  • GED628  Using Technology to Support Student Learning (3 units)
  • GED639  Health Education (2 units)
  • GED642  Teaching Strategies for English Learners (3 units)
  • GED677  Teaching Strategies for Special Populations (3 units)

Students who completed their preliminary credential program as an undergraduate student, can work with their advisor to design a program which will meet the clear credential requirement.  One option may be to complete the Master of Arts concentration in Teaching and Learning.
