Dr. Oliveri's teaching focus is to encourage inquiry, communication, critical thinking, and caring behaviors. She chooses to promote these activities in an environment that fosters collaboration as well as independent thinking. She has an opportunity to inspire, within every student, a holistic perspective, which she hopes will augment each student's ability to critically assess the well-being of all patients.
Research/Publications/Presentations:
- Doctoral Dissertation: "The Effects of Reflection, Knowledge, Inquiry, and Action on Nursing Students' Abilities to Think Critically"
- Research interests surround assessment and evaluation, and include the relationship of standardized testing and pass/fail rates for NCLEX, as well as, simulation as a significant teaching/learning strategy, and the influence that simulation has on critical thinking among nursing students.
Personal Note:
I am blessed to be a nurse educator and am always humbled by what I can learn from my students. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, and spending time with my husband and children.
