Oh what a long, hot, sun-drenched, bumpy, rough, rocky - AND immensely rewarding day of safari-ing! Elephants, giraffes, a fat 'n' sassy lioness happily digesting a freshly-consumed wildebeest with hundreds of vultures and a few storks waiting their turns, and the famed wildebeest crossing of the Mara River. So much to see in one day! My, my goodness.

This morning I stepped out of our tent for morning coffee and there, maybe 50-60 yards away from our front door flap, we saw our first giraffe in Africa - well, two of them, actually, munching on an acacia breakfast. Wow!

By the way, the biologist at ANU informed me the other day that there are 78 different species of acacia - just in case ya didn't know. Kenya imagine that? It's almost beyond my ken, ya know.

Woohoo! How I love the puns. Load all those puns up and take 'em on safari. And safari, sagoodi, on our African adventures!
