Christian Missions Minor

The Christian Missions minor is a 22-23 unit program for students who want to prepare academically and personally for short term missions, career missions or for an orientation to life as ministry in a lay capacity. There are three emphases or "tracks" in the minor, "Intercultural", "Urban" and "Ministry for Life" (ministry for life in a lay capacity). The minor is interdisciplinary and is offered jointly by the department of Sociology and the department of Philosophy and Religion. At least nine units must be taken in courses that are not used for the student's major. At least twelve units must be upper division.

  • SOC 111 (1) Introduction to Sociology: Practicum
  • CMI 360 (4*) Internship
* Two units per semester for two semesters (four units total). May also be taken during the summer along with summer ministry assignments.
