Welcome to the first step in a journey of service and ministry with LoveWorks! God has used LoveWorks to bless and enrich many of our lives across the PLNU family and around the world. LoveWorks has extended our community into friendship with sisters and brothers far from Loma. We hope you have prayerfully considered what LoveWorks will require, that you have sought wisdom, and that you are prepared to move forward in faith.
Please make sure that you are fully prepared to complete the entire online application before continuing. If you would rather submit a paper application, please contact us at loveworks@pointloma.edu to request one. Remember that all applications are due by Friday November 6, 2009. If we need to ask you additional questions or meet together, we will contact you. Completing the application does not formally commit you to a team. It allows us to create teams from applicants who appear to be a good fit. Once placed on a team, you will receive a packet with further instructions on formally committing to join the team.
Teams will be announced via e-mail before Thanksgiving Recess. Formal commitments (signed Letter of Agreement) are due to our office by December 11.

STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR SHORT ESSAY ANSWERS
You will be asked to answer 6 short essay questions to help us get to know you better and make the best team placement for you.
Please prepare an answer to each of the following questions:
1. Have you participated in any PLNU International Ministries programs before? If so, please detail and describe your experience.
2. Please list additional experience traveling, studying, or living outside of the US, if any.
3. We understand that life in Christ, over the years, is filled with challenge and fulfillment, joy and pain. Please describe your faith-life these days.
4. Briefly describe a significant ministry experience where you were ministered to, or where you ministered to someone else. What did you learn from that experience?
5. Briefly describe a significant cross-cultural relationship or experience, either in the USA or abroad. What did you learn from that experience?
6. Why are you interested in serving with LoveWorks?

STEP 4: PASSPORT INFORMATION
Do you have a current US passport?
YES: If so, we will need your passort expiration date when you apply. (A note: If your passport expires before December 2010 you will need to renew your passport by the beginning of the spring semester in order to participate in LoveWorks.)
NO: It is NOT required to have a current passport upon application but if you are selected to join a team, you will be required to apply for and obtain a passport by the spring semester.

NEXT STEPS: What come's next?
If accepted, you will receive an email by November 23 confirming your team placement.
You will receive a welcome packet including a Letter of Agreement, which confirms your participation.
To confirm your participation, return the completed Letter of Agreement to Spiritual Development in Nicholson Commons by December 11. |
