WHAT WILL THE 2008 CAMP WEEK LOOK LIKE?

Tecate Camp - our home for the week:
The Nazarene church in Northwest Baja owns a campground in Tecate, a country town located 15 minutes south of the border crossing near Jamul, CA. The camp has dorms with attached, fully-functioning bathrooms. All meals will be prepared on-site.

Tijuana & Tecate Nazarene Churches - our partners for the week:

All the churches we will work with are located in Tijuana, about 20 minutes south of San Diego, just across the border. We partner with the Church of the Nazarene and are well-connected within the network of pastors and district leadership.

Building Relationships & Learning - our goal for the week:
The most important aspect of the week is reaching beyond ourselves to get to know Mexican and U.S. teens from other youth groups. All participants will be split out among mixed ministry teams. Daily, teams will debrief observations, thoughts, and questions together with PLNU leaders and adult sponsors. Nightly, the entire camp will spend time in small groups, worship, and bonding as a camp during some much-needed down-time.

Ministry Opportunities - our service for the week:

During the day, teams will travel about 30 minutes by charter bus to our host churches in Tijuana. Teams will be involved in community outreach both on and off the church campus. Some groups may be involved in light labor, but most will be involved in compassionate service. All activity will be heavily supervised by YouthWorks staff and Mexican church leadership. Before coming, we will communicate your team, host church, and ministry plan to you.
