| About Me: |
I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, but fell in love with San Diego. Halfway through college I decided that it would be my new home. I've since convinced my parents to move back (they grew up here) and am terribly fortunate that many of my closest college friends stuck around. I really am quite confident that - with such phenomenal people around me, flip-flop weather year-round, and the incredible diversity of my neighborhood - San Diego's pretty deserving of her "America's Finest City" title. |

| Interests/Hobbies: |
Learning about other cultures, going to concerts, cooking from scratch, hosting parties (mostly ridiculously detailed and themed ones), story-telling, catching up with friends over some coffee drink made with soy, making up my own fonts |
| Favorite TV: |
I only watch The Office, but man I love it |
| Favorite Movies: |
I wish I could break this down by genre ... but I'll stick with the go-tos: Garden State, I Heart Huckabees, Les Mis, Mystery Men, Ever After, Chocolat, Dead Man Walking, American History X |

| Favorite Books: |
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, Poisonwood Bible, Girl Meets God, Let Your Life Speak, Compasstion, all the Harry Potters! |
| Favorite Food/Restaurant: |
I'm a vegetarian, so for San Diego veg fare, it's either Rancho's or Sipz. I can pretty much eat Thai or sushi at any time of any day - and I can't refuse mushroom and black olive pizza |

Machu Pichu is definitely on my "Must See Before I Die" list |

| Heroes: |
Historical Figure: Dorothy Day Personal Figures (you'll have to ask for their stories): Vera Dingman, Nyawech's parents, the Egal Family |

| Favorite Holiday Memory: |
Growing up, my family lived/worked at a children's group home in the middle of the desert outside of Phoenix. Most kids would stay with relatives or their house parents for Christmas, but one year, three teenage boys spent it with us. Though initially, my sister and I were fairly bratty about sharing our Christmas, it still sticks out in my mind as the BEST Christmas we've ever had. The guys marveled at everything we did - things I had started to take for granted. It gave me new eyes to see my family with, an appreciation for the love in all our lives, and a special bond to those guys. |
