Admissions Procedures

How does the application process work?

  • Download an application. If you are unable to download, request an application be mailed to you (use the phone number or email at the bottom of this page).
  • Submit your completed application and support materials as early as possible. The deadline for applications is March 1 of the year you plan to attend.
  • Once all the necessary materials are received, the admissions office will determine if you qualify to attend this university and will notify you.
  • If you are accepted, you will receive an “offer of admission” letter, asking you to send a confirmation deposit of $425 if you plan to attend PLNU. **Important note: if you do not return your confirmation deposit by the date specified, your acceptance may be cancelled and your place may be offered to another student.

I have received an offer of admission. What should I do next?

  • Return your confirmation deposit. The deadline to submit your confirmation deposit is March 1, but you are encouraged to accept your offer of admission as early as possible.
  • Return your forms. When the Office of Admissions receives your confirmation deposit, we will send you several important forms you will need to fill out and return as soon as possible, including: Housing Contract, Registration Profile Form, and Insurance Information Form. Send these back to the admissions office as soon as possible. When all is completed, an I-20 will be sent to you by the International Student Services Office.
  • Get your student visa. Make an appointment at the U.S. Embassy and take your I-20 with your offer of admission letter and affidavit of support to obtain an F-1 visa in your passport.
  • Arrange travel plans. Let the International Student Services Office know your travel plans as soon as you know them. We will arrange to work with you to get you to campus from the San Diego airport.
