Senior Admissions Counselor
Where you were born?
In San Juan del Sur, Rivas, Nicaragua.
What did you study in college?
Bachelors of Art in Psychology, concentration on Therapeutic and Community Psychology, Masters in Education, concentration in Counseling and Guidance
What were your favorite involvements in college and why?
I loved being part of the
Association of Latin American students all four years. I was also involved in Choral Union,
intramural sports (go Spotted Cows! Won 2 championships, freshmen and senior year) and Mexico outreach
ministry. I love being involved, and through these involvements I met some amazing people that I still keep in touch with!
What's a word or phrase that describes you?
Tenacious
What's your favorite San Diego past time?
I love going to Balboa Park and spending time with my husband and birds looking at the koi fish and reading a good book. I love going to the beach and wonder in amazement at God’s beauty, plus going to the beach makes me think that in San Juan del Sur where I was born, my cousins may be looking at the same ocean.
What advice would you give to an incoming PLNU student?
Be involved from the get go, and step outside your comfort zone to allow God to shape you. Remember that you are coming to Loma to get a solid education, and you make your college experience what it is, so enjoy the journey.
If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
Since I have two blue and gold Macaws, Paco and Loli, I would love to be a Macaw. They are family oriented, independent and very talkative. A little rough around the edges, but friendly and loving once you get to know them.
