PLNU requires the following immunizations for matriculation:


Tetanus: must be within the last 10 years.
Measles, Mumps, Rubella: 2 shots, one given after the first year of birth, the other a booster.


According to California State Law all first-year students will need to document their decisions regarding the meningitis vaccine. Bacterial meningitis has a slightly higher incidence in first-year students living in residence halls. Students have the option to receive the vaccine prior to coming to school, after school starts or opting not to receive the vaccine. This documentation will be either offered in a form letter to new students or on the admission health form. Wellness Center staff can answer questions regarding this immunization.


It is recommended that all students have the following:
Immunization for Meningitis, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B


The following Health Services are offered for a fee:


$35 Tetanus (Tdap)
$90 Meningitis
$50 ea. MMR Booster
$55 ea. Hepatitis A (2 injection series)
$5 PPD testing (TB)
$15 Flu shot (seasonal)


and some travel medications
