PLNU and the American College Health Association (ACHA) recommend the following vaccines be obtained prior to entering the university:
- Hepatitis B series
- Tetravalent Meningococcal vaccine
- Hepatitis A series
- Varicella vaccine (for those without history of disease, or negative antibody titer)

The above requirements and information are based on ACHA, Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and Department of Health Services State of California.
The Wellness Center provides the following vaccines:
*Remember, if you receive these vaccines from your primary care provider, medical insurance usually covers the cost of these vaccines.
Talk to your private physician about these important vaccines.
It is to your benefit and ours that you obtain needed booster shots prior to coming to school in the fall. We cannot bill insurance; some of the vaccines are in short supply and are expensive.
We also take this time to encourage you to contact your insurance plan to see how you would be able to access health care in San Diego County. There are a variety of insurance plans and it is the students’ responsibility to know the coverage and providers to which they are linked.
The Wellness Center services are free to all PLNU students.
