Society for the Study of Psychology & Wesleyan Theology

The Society for the Study of Psychology and Wesleyan Theology (SSPWT) exists to promote interdisciplinary dialogue between psychology and Wesleyan theology and to serve as a catalyst to promote scholarly research, writing, and conversation among academics, practitioners, and other interested individuals
 

Introducing the 2005-2006 SSPWT Executive Council:

 

Toddy Holeman, President.

Toddy is Professor of Counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, and a licensed psychologist and marriage and family therapist.~ Active in the Society from the beginning, and having served as host for the 2000 Conference, Toddy has previously served as Program Chair and President-Elect.~ She can be reached at Toddy_Holeman@asburyseminary.edu.
 

Ron Wright, President Elect.

Ron is Associate Professor of Psychology at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Mount Vernon, Ohio and a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio.  Active in the society from the beginning he served as the chair of communications from 2001-2003.  He can be reached at ron.wright@mvnu.edu.
 

Douglas Hardy, Past President. 

Doug is Associate Professor of Spiritual Formation at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City.  Prior to this assignment, he served on the Psychology faculty at Eastern Nazarene College.  He has been with the Society from the beginning and led  programming for the 2001, 2002, and 2003 conferences.  He can be reached at dshardy@nts.edu.  The SSPWT Council is grateful to Doug for his outstanding leadership.
 

Greg Dimond, Program. 

Greg is the Director of Quality Assurance for Independent Opportunities, Inc., a not for profit service provider to persons with developmental disabilities throughout the state of Oklahoma.  Active in the Society from the beginning and assisting in programming for the 2003-2005 conferences, Greg is the program coordinator for the 2006 conference.  He can be reached at gdimond@ioi-tulsa.com.
 

Mark Maddix - Promotion. 

Mark is Professor of Christian Education and Director of Graduate Theological Online Education at Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho. Active in the society, he joins the council for the first time as promotion secretary. He can be reached at mamaddix@nnu.edu.
 

Brad Strawn, Records. 

Brad D. Strawn is Professor of Psychology and Chair of the department of psychology at Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego, CA. With the society from the beginning, he was the first elected president and served in that capacity until 2003. Brad's current position in records includes membership and conference registration.  He can be reached at BradStrawn@pointloma.edu
