Submission Guidlines

Susanna: A Literary Journal of Wesleyan Women's Thought welcomes submissions from or about women who think, work, and live in Wesleyan contexts. The purpose of our journal is to offer a space for creative work by and about Wesleyan women.

Writers are encouraged to submit original prose (reflective, literary essays) and classic short fiction of not more than 5,000 words, poetry of not more than 60 lines (including prose poems), micro-fiction, and other hybrid literary forms.

Please identify the genre of the work you are submitting and include a short bio (100 words or less) with your work.

Artists may submit electronically reproducible work via regular mail or electronically. We suggest a "watermark" that identifies the artist's work. Electronic warning against reproduction of your work will appear.

No simultaneous submissions, please.

SUSANNA is granted exclusive electronic rights for a period of 120 days. Author or artist retains right to publish work in non-electronic form at any time. Works will also be archived online.

All writer's submissions should be sent as attachments preferably in Microsoft Word, or in simple ASCII text in the body of an e-mail message with a hard copy to follow to the address below. Please remember that the work, should it be selected for inclusion in SUSANNA, must be converted to HTML, so that if you send plain text, use carriage returns deftly and consider marking space and stanza breaks with some searchable marker such as a pair of ** or similar marking. This is not necessary if the work is sent as an attachment in a major word processing format.

Submissions and questions about submissions should be sent to Kay Harkins at kharkins@pointloma.edu.
