Creation Care Week
Creation Care Week includes a variety of events and displays on the theme of responsible care of our natural resources – that is, opportunities for listening, reading, speaking and acting now to bequeath the planet to the next generation as we found it or better.
Creation Care Week 2012 Events
Monday, Sept. 10
Creation Care Chapel with Ben Lowe
Ben Lowe, author of Green Revolution, will be speaking in chapel this year about Creation Care, empowering students to get involved with sustainability.
Providing a way for students to get involved with sustainability on and off campus, the fair will have numerous organizations to show off. SustainPLNU will be giving away mugs and prizes.
Tuesday, Sept. 11
Fermanian Business Center
What better way to get to know Ben Lowe than over a cup of free joe (fair trade, of course). This Brewed Awakening will provide a discussion forum about climate change and sustainability issues.
Wednesday, Sept. 12
Ride to OB Farmers Market
Meet @ Prescott
It happens every week, but this week you can get a free ride to OB and back. Come check it out: music, food, veggies and a good time.
Thursday, Sept. 13
Meet Professionals in Sustainability Networking Event
Smee Hall and Terrace
Professionals from Cleantech, Sony, Car2Go and Malama Composites (and more) will share about their careers and involvement with sustainability within their organization. This is a great event to meet professionals and potentially secure an internship or job.
Friday, Sept. 14
Free Coffee - If You Bring a Mug
Before (and after) Chapel
You provide a mug, SustainPLNU will provide you with some yummy fair trade organic coffee.
Bike the Jam
Your home to the cross @ PLNU
Off campus folks: bike (or walk) from your house and get free b-fast... that’s short for the best on-the-go breakfast. We're talking caffeine, yogurt, fruit and you could win $15.
Saturday, Sept. 15
Cliffs Coastal Clean-up Day
Meet @ Young Hall
Join thousands of Californians (and PLNU peeps) to clean up our Sunset Cliffs.
