What Can I Recycle?
Recycling (Blue Bins, Labeled Concrete Containers, White dumpsters)
- Aluminum Cans (empty soda and juice cans)
- Tin Cans (empty soup cans)
- Tin Foil (cleaned of food residue)
- Cardboard (food packing boxes, corrugated boxes, pizza boxes)
- Glass (empty glass bottles & jars)
- Paper
- Computer Paper
- Magazines and Junk Mail (glossy paper)
- Shredded Paper
- Soft Cover Books (Remove covers from hard cover books)
- Newspaper
- Color Paper
- Notebook paper
- Envelopes
- Plastic Bottles and Jugs (#1 and #2 Plastics)
- Plastic Grocery Bags (#2 and #4 Plastics)
- Tupperware containers (#5 Plastics)
- Yogurt Containers (#5 Plastics)
- Clear Clamshell to-go containers (#6 Plastics)
- Clear to-go cups (#1 or #5 Plastics)
- Labeled Plastics #1-6
Trash (Grey bins, receptacles throughout campus, green dumpsters)
- Ziploc bags (please reuse)
- Paper coffee cups (Paper coffee cups have a wax linning that prevents them from being recycled in to a new paper product. Please use a travel or ceramic mug)
- Styrofoam (Even though it's labeled #6)
- Candy wrappers
- Paper Towels and Tissue (Not considered recyclable because its low fiber content. Try the pants method or use a hand towel.)
Other recyclables (Just in special locations)
Battery/Cell Phone/ Ink Cartridge Recycling Wood Box
- Batteries (Alkaline, Ni-Cd, Lead Acid, Li-Ion, etc)
- Ink and Toner Cartridges (Larger items can be sent in box to Physical Plant)
- Cell Phones
- Cameras
* Look in dorm and building entrances for these wooden recycling receptacles
Other Recyclables
- Electronics (Laptops, monitors, stereos, PC parts, CDs, DVDs, VHSs, etc.)
- Metal (Appliances, window blinds)
- Anything containing copper, brass, steel, aluminum
- Lamps (Fluorescent, high-intensity discharge lamps, compacts, etc.)
