Background
Where are you from?
I grew up in Temecula, a sparkling desert oasis of beauty about 60 miles north. San Diego is now my home, and *SPOILER ALERT- once you come to San Diego, you’ll have a hard time leaving.
What did you study in college?
I was a Journalism major- emphasis in creative writing….and I changed my minor only 7 times in the course of my four years of college.
What were some of your favorite on and off campus activities as a PLNU student?
Oh goodness. Fro-yo becomes a staple meal to college girls, not sure what that’s about, but we would always have fun getting fro-yo/ice cream late at night. I was always a huge fan of Movies In the Greek; there’s just something about the feel of a drive-in movie with your friends. An awesome thing about Loma is that there’s always SOMETHING to do on campus- but Superhero bowling and 70s Skate Night ranked as my favorite yearly events. San Diego itself is a hotbed of awesome things to do, whether it’s kayaking the La Jolla Coves, seeing the Nutcracker at the San Diego Civic Theater, eating at any number of the incredible restaurants downtown or having a picnic by the museums in Balboa Park, San Diego has it all.
Piece of advice you’d give to someone living on campus?
STAY ON CAMPUS! It is SO much fun to live in this community, and many alumni consistently say that living on campus walking distance from all their friends was the absolute best part of college. Four years is over in the blink of an eye. My advice is just enjoy it! Enjoy the remarkable sunsets, enjoy the wonderful people that you’re bound to come in contact with at Point Loma, and capitalize as much as possible on the opportunities that you’ll have here.
