Background

Where are you from?

I was born in Gillette, Wyoming, but I call Arroyo Grande, California home.

What did you study in college?

I majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Public Relations. I'm currently working on my MBA through PLNU.

Favorite San Diego one off coffee shop:

As a student I loved going to The Living Room Cafe. It is right down the hill from campus and they have AMAZING hot tea choices (just a couple bucks for a whole pot!), free wi-fi and a "quiet zone" upstairs which is perfect for studying. They're open late too so if the dorms were distracting I could get away and do some work sipping fabulous tea.

A TV show you could spend an entire Saturday watching:

Anything on HGTV! I sit there thinking about how I would decorate my house someday when I win the HGTV Dream Home.

Piece of advice you’d give to someone choosing their major:

After you do some research online, visit the school and ask questions to the current students and professors! I asked the difference between Media Communications and Broadcast Journalism because they sounded so similar in name, but they actually have different areas of focus and students learn different things. Broadcasting was perfect for me and I wouldn't have known had I not asked questions!
