FBEI Events

Throughout the year, the Fermanian Business & Economic Institute hosts events for our undergraduate and graduate students that are designed to complement the academic programs of PLNU. These events are also designed to provide opportunities for ongoing networking, recruiting, and other business community, alumni, faculty, and other interested individuals.
ANNUAL EVENTS
"Dealmakers of the Year" Business Breakfast
At our annual "Dealmakers of the Year" Business Breakfast we honor those unique individuals, firms, and collaborations that exemplify creativity, innovation, and ethical practices that create long term value for the business community in the San Diego region.
Economic Outlook Forum
The FBEI's Economic Outlook Forum provides a unique opportunity for the San Diego business community to learn about the annual local economic forecast from Dr. Lynn Reaser, PLNU's Chief Economist. Attendees of this event get time to interact and network with current PLNU students, meet with San Diego business professionals, and receive a copy of the most current annual economic outlook publication.
ONGOING EVENTS
Professional Development Events
Our Professional Development Events are offered once per semester for undergraduates and graduates from all academic programs. The event begins with dinner at our stunning Burnham Event Plaza overlooking the Pacific. Our students and guests then gather to discuss issues of mutual interest on a pre-selected topic.
Executive Development Events
Once per year, our MBAs are treated to their own exclusive Executive Development Event, where the MBA and an invited guest of the MBA attend an intimate dinner hosted by the staff of the FBEI. Senior Executives discuss with MBAs topics of concern to those who aspire to executive leadership, and their mutual experiences through years of business leadership.
Fermanian Executive Network Events
The Fermanian Executive Network luncheons are designed to promote interaction among the Network membership as well as engage for-profit business leaders, companies, and organizations that otherwise could not ordinarily participate in the mission of the Fermanian Business & Economic Institute.
"Attending the events hosted by the Fermanian Business and Economic Institute gave me confidence in professional settings. I learned that networking goes beyond having a LinkedIn profile, and believe that the skills learned from the events set me apart from other job candidates. The services offered by the FBEI adequately prepared me for the interview process and my first full time position, for which I am extremely grateful."
Megan Smith, Business Administration
2010 Graduate
"The personal boutique model that the FSB and FBEI has adopted is a fantastic attribute to their students' education and careers. Rather than flooding the market with resumes, business faculty and staff strategically arranges the introduction with key individuals that will optimize the students' opportunity to achieve the specific goals he/she is pursuing. Through programs such as Professional Development Events, students will graduate with valuable footholds in whatever field they wish to pursue."
Stephen Haskell, Accounting
2008 Graduate
