Background

Ms. Gallagher brings over twenty-five years of business experience to her role as Executive Director of the Fermanian Business & Economic Institute (FBEI) at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU). Her background includes experience in sales, marketing, professional training, business development, event planning, management, and leadership. Prior to joining PLNU, she served as owner, operator, and manager for several small businesses on the east coast. She held the role of Director following the restructure of the Fermanian Business Center (FBC), of which she was Manager since August of 2005, and in January 2014 assumed leadership of the Institute as Executive Director. Prior to her role in the FBC, she had worked in several areas, including administration, development, and human resources since starting at PLNU in May of 2003. 

She has extensive knowledge and contacts in the local San Diego business community and is active in several business organizations. Ms. Gallagher is responsible for leading, planning, and implementation of strategic initiatives for the FBEI and building awareness of the many programs, services, and resources that further its mission and goals. Additionally, Gallagher is Executive Editor of publications and studies, as well as leading client and business development efforts. She works closely with for-profit and non-profit businesses, organizations, and individuals, both in and out of the San Diego region, to develop collaborative, strategic, and mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance the objectives of the firm, bringing added value and actionable results.

Gallagher also works closely with the Associate Dean for Graduate Business Education to establish new programs, resources, and experiential opportunities for MBA students to enhance their professional development and complement their academic experience. Ms. Gallagher’s background and relationship with industry leaders has allowed her to provide creative solutions to businesses in a dynamic business and economic environment. These valuable connections lead to consulting opportunities, business plan development, field experience opportunities, job placement, mentoring, speaking engagements, and business to business connections with related professionals in the community.

Gallagher holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Point Loma Nazarene University. She currently resides in Point Loma with her husband of twent-nine years and has two grown children and two grandchildren.
