Thomas Hale joined the staff of the Fermanian Business & Economic Institute (Institute) in August 2015. As Senior Research Associate, Tom performs primary research, develops and maintains databases for financial, statistical, and economic analysis, and designs graphics for presentations, studies, and publications. Additionally, he provides contract support for the Chief Economist while also managing and directing research teams for business and economic consulting contracts.

Hale brings over 20 years of experience in sales, operations, and research, as well as presentation and organizational skills to the Institute acquired working primarily in the healthcare industry.  Most recently, as a Medicare Contract Specialist, he has been responsible for researching Federal Government regulations to identify, validate, and analyze the impact of changes in Medicare reimbursement methodologies on Health System revenue forecasting.

He looks forward to his new role at the Institute and helping to provide solutions to the needs of the San Diego business community. He is passionate about helping others gain insights, solve problems, and make decisions using data.

Hale holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Westminster College.  He currently resides in Point Loma with his wife of 17 years and 1 child.
