Yes. Three of the hotels (Holiday Inn San Diego Bayside, Humphrey's Half Moon Inn & Suites, and Island Palms Hotel & Marina) are offering shuttle service to and from the Point Loma campus on Commencement Day. Click here to view the shuttle schedule.

Each ceremony lasts approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Balloons cannot be allowed since they obstruct the view of those seated around you. They can be left at the Information Booth and collected after the ceremony has concluded.
Due to the large number of families attending commencement at PLNU, the university regrets being unable to provide child care services.

Yes, Commencement Flowers will have several booths set up near the Greek Amphitheatre where bouquets and leis can be purchased. Click here if you would like to place an order online and have the flowers waiting for you to pick up at one of the flower booths.

PLNU has contracted with Commencement Photos, Inc. for a photographer to take an official photograph of each student receiving their diploma folder/tube from President Brower. For ordering information, click here.
Yes. Public Safety personnel will direct traffic to the parking area at the Fermanian School of Business on the south end of the campus, with drop-off at the adjacent lot of Colt Hall.
Yes, these areas are available and tickets are required for the two undergraduate ceremonies.
You can pick up your cap and gown on the Point Loma campus in the courtyard adjacent to the Records Office May 4-6 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. and on Commencement Day in Nicholson Commons in the hallway adjacent to the bookstore beginning at 8:30 a.m. While you may keep the tassel as a memento of your special day, all caps, gowns, and hoods must be returned to Nicholson Commons before 6 p.m. on Commencement Day to avoid incurring a penalty charge.
Please arrive approximately 45 minutes before the start of your commencement ceremony. Students will line up on Peppertree Lane.

A Diploma Mailing Request form (click here) needs to be filled out and submitted to the Records Office. Diplomas area mailed once the Records Office has confirmed that all requirements for graduation have been completed.
Tickets & Seating
Yes, tickets are required for our 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. undergraduate convocations. Tickets are not required for the 10 a.m. convocation.
Each graduate is entitled to a total of twelve (12) tickets.
Yes. To be placed on the waiting list, please contact Shelley Fruchey at (619) 849-2658 or by email. All requests for additional tickets should be made by the student directly. When requesting additional tickets, please provide your student ID, major, and how many additional tickets you are asking for. DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF REQUESTS FOR OUR 2016 COMMENCEMENT CONVOCATIONS, THE WAITING LIST IS NOW CLOSED. Click here for more information regarding Ticket Distribution Policy. *Please note: Our 1 p.m. convocation is booked to capacity. It is highly unlikely that we will be able to provide additional tickets for this convocation.
Early-bird distribution will take place at the Senior Dessert/Grad Fest event on Wednesday, March 16 and in the Nicholson Commons Activities & Recreation Center (ARC) on Thursday, March 17 as part of Second Chance Grad Fest. If you miss those two opportunities, tickets will be available for pick-up at the Records Office beginning TBD.
Yes, children age three (3) and older who are attending the undergraduate ceremonies (1 p.m. and 4 p.m.) in the Greek Amphitheatre are required to have a ticket.
Seating opens one hour before the start of each ceremony.
