Dr. Chao has been practicing orthopedics and sports medicine in San Diego since 1995. He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a Subspecialty Certified in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the prestigious ACL Study Group as well as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and an assistant clinical instructor at UCSD.
He has been the team physician for the San Diego Chargers going on 12 years. He has been the Chief Medical Officer for ESPN’s X-games at over two dozen summer and winter games. He has been the team physician for the USA Rugby team. He is also a medical consultant for WWE and host physician for the USA Olympic Committee.
