1970- 1974:  Counselor, Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, La Puente, California; Responsibilities- Coordinator of Child Welfare and Attendance, and Special Education classes. Assistant to the Dean of Students. Chairman of college scholarship programs. Member of Continuation High School Referral Committee. Counselor for post high school education. Teacher of summer school classes in Psychology, Remedial Reading, and Mathematics.
1968- 1970:  Teacher- Counselor of the Educationally Handicapped, La Puente Union High School District, La Puente, California; Responsibilities- Organization and development of new programs for the Educationally Handicapped, with a concentration in counseling and guidance of students and parents with special needs.

Dr. Robert Morwood's research interests are in the area of special education and the effectiveness of special education teachers.  "What are the specific dispositions/characteristics needed to be a successful special education teacher.  Interests are also in the area of Autism and Autism Spectrum.
