Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential Program and On-Site Reflective Induction Coaching for New and Experienced Administrators
Program Design
Good leaders are forward-thinking. Great leaders are rooted in an understanding of history and tradition. Visionary leaders seek to impact tomorrow by transforming lives and institutions today.>
The Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential (formerly called Tier II) is offered at all PLNU regional centers - Bakersfield, Inland Empire (Corona and Rancho Cucamonga) and Mission Valley in San Diego. Follow the link to any one of these centers to see the unique features of the program at these centers.
The Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential Program is "user friendly," relevant to the day-to-day work of the beginning administrator, and provides flexibility in the options for meeting goals and professional development requirements.
In the Educational Leadership program, you will gain the skills and mindset to become the kind of visionary leader you know is needed today. Whether you work at a school site or at the district level, we will further your ability to handle the demands of a diverse and rapidly-changing educational environment by coming along side you to coach you on your journey to become the high performing leader you were meant to be.
Our Program: One of only three such programs in the state, the Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential program is designed to facilitate the on-site reflective coaching induction and professional development of beginning administrators and fulfill the CCTC requirements for the Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential. The program utilizes a reflective coaching format that includes a minimum of 20 hours of on-site coaching by a university fieldwork coach/supervisor. The 6 unit, two semester program is centered on the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs) and supports participants in clarifying and achieving the actual goals and tasks confronting them as beginning administrators.
Required courses for the Clear Administrative Services Credential
Required courses for the Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential:
- GED796 Induction, Mentoring, and Advanced fieldwork (3 units)
- GED797 Professional Development and Assessment (3 units)
TOTAL - 6 semester units
Candidates may enter the program at the beginning of any quad. The program normally takes six to eight months to complete. For example, if the candidate begins the program in September he/she will complete the program in April or June. If he/she begins in January, he/she would finish the following September. Candidates must have completed two full years as an administrator prior to applying for the professional clear administrative services credential.
On-site Reflective Induction Coaching for New and Experienced Administrators: This program offers the same coaching experiences as the Professional Clear Credential program but is focused on new or experienced administrators who have already cleared their credentials. The program focuses on helping these administrators hone their skills and leadership through on-site reflective coaching.
Our Coaching Team: All of our Administrative Coaches are veteran school administrators with decades of experience as principals and district office administrators and have received Coaching Training through the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and New Teacher Center (NTC) Coaching Leaders to Attain Student Success (CLASS) Network. Our coaching team members have backgrounds and experiences in schools and districts with special needs in Title I, Program Improvement, SAIT, DAIT, Curriculum Audits, high English Language Learner populations, and high poverty populations. They have also had experiences with high performing, high income schools and districts.
