Clinical Background/Academic Focus:

Judy Scott is known for encouraging the new nursing learner to ask questions, think critically and integrate knowledge with new nursing practice.  Her rehabilitation background provides the student with the opportunity to learn from an instructor familiar with the collaborative model of care, encouraging nursing students to study about and learn from all members of the health team.

Research/Publications/Presentations:

  • Master's Project:  The development and presentation of curriculum for a CRRN review course for practicing RNs in the rehabilitation setting.
  • Research Interests:  Simulation technology in nursing education, balance training and fall prevention strategies for the elderly
  • Support Group Facilitator: Co-led with Dr. Kris Lambert, in conjunction with the PLNU Wellness Center, "Open Doors," a support group for women on campus

Personal Note:

Nursing has unfolded over many years for me, showing a wonderful variety of practice settings and unique and holistic avenues of service to Christ through this wonderful profession!  Looking for me away from school?  Probably cycling with my husband, Jim, or enjoying our children in their homes.
