Participants in the ISF program will:
Co-enroll in four courses that are required for graduation from Point Loma.

  • WRI 110 (5 units) College Composition
  • BIO 101 (4 units) Human Biology and Bioethics (with lab)
  • BIB 101 (2 units) Old Testament History and Religion (First 6 weeks)
  • BIB 102 (3 units) New Testament History and Religion (Last 8 weeks)
  • PED 300 (2 units) Optimal Health


Participate with professors in weekly interdisciplinary discussions on topics such as:

  • How do scripture and science mesh?
  • What is a person’s responsibility as a steward of their body, their time, and the environment?
  • How do ideas from literature, writing, religion, science, history, advertising and economics influence Americans’ world view?
  • How can I effectively explain current issues and frame logical arguments in both writing and speaking?
  • What role should my faith play in forming ethical positions on practices such as genetic engineering and cloning?


Form learning communities with other participants, tutors, and the faculty through a variety of activities including

  • group projects
  • review sessions
  • panel discussions
  • off campus working retreat
  • off campus cultural events
