Off-Campus Information

PLNU is considered a residential university. Each year we carefully review the various numbers of students leaving the university (graduating, studying abroad, withdrawing, etc.) and those coming in (returning study abroad students, new and transfer students, etc.) to help us determine how many students we can approve to move off campus.  This number varies from semester to semester as factors such as the number of graduating seniors, or incoming students, etc. is always different.

Current on-campus students who will be Seniors for the 2013/2014 academic year with a valid grad check can self-select to live off campus.  This is done by completing your Housing Application with an indication of “off-campus” no later than March 31, 2013.

• Students who change their housing status from off campus to on campus after the deadline will be placed on the waitlist for on campus housing.

Current on-campus students who will be Juniors for the 2013/2014 academic year  may apply to be placed on the off-campus wait list.   This is done by completing your Housing Application with an indication of “off-campus” no later than March 31, 2013; this does not guarantee off campus approval.  Students on the off-campus wait list must complete their Housing Application and room selection process.  Notification of approval to move off campus is a rolling notification from March through July, done in random order, and will be sent to the email account.

Freshmen and Sophomores:

All freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus. With official varification, freshmen and sophomores may live at their primary residence with their parents.

All students currently living on campus must participate in the room selction process.  Failure to complete a Housing Application yields your placement to the Office of Residential Life.

If you have any questions regarding Housing, please contact the Housing Coordinator in Student Development located on the 3rd floor of Nicholson Commons.
