Eggonomics 101: More than the chicken... it's the EGGS

Armenia is a small landlocked country in Northwestern Asia. It is among the poorest countries in the region (by per capita GDP, World Bank). LoveWorks hosts Anna and Trino are leading the church providing chickens to families in one of the poorest areas of Armenia. Unemployment in this town is at 60%. Many of the men have emigrated to work in Russia. Many of the multi-generational households are being led by women on the edge of subsistence.

The women raise the chickens.

The chickens provide eggs.

Eggs are nutrition.

Eggs are traded for other foods.

Eggs are sold to pay school fees.

Eggs are sold to buy clothing.

Eggs help keep women from being trafficked to provide for their children and elders.

Your Chickens for Armenia Lent offering is empowering the church to expand this vital help for their neighbors in need.
