Worship Arts

What We Do

The Office of Worship Arts serves to create a consistent rhythm of intentional, Christ-centered worship for the PLNU community. Worship services provide the PLNU community opportunities to worship corporately through scripture, prayer, singing, preaching, stories of faith, and other creative elements.

Worship Arts primarily involves students across campus who seek to offer their creative arts gifts and talents. These students participate and lead during Chapel and Time Out. They also have the opportunity to lead worship at dorm events, staff/faculty department chapels, and off-campus events.

Local churches often utilize students involved in Worship Arts as interns or as part of their bands. With such need and opportunity in the San Diego area we encourage students to be involved in worship at a local church through creative arts and fellowship.

Romans 12:1 says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship” (NRSV).

Worship Arts is not solely about music or the arts. We believe in a call to live a life of worship at all times; this includes academics, relationships, finances—even the way we spend our time. Therefore, chapels focus on developing mature disciples of Jesus Christ so that we live lives of worship, reflecting Christ’s image: a faithful and obedient response to God, who is love.

Worship at PLNU calls students, staff, and faculty into a time of transformation and communion with God, involving every aspect of our lives, both individually and communally, for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
