Media Equipment Usage Policies

Sound, presentation, and projection equipment may be requested by telephone, e-mail or in person.

Please note that equipment availability is limited. Reservations are made on a first come, first serve basis - early requests will prevent disappointment. If you are unable to use services that you have scheduled, early cancellation is appreciated.

Event requests should be made to the Manager of Media Services.

Academic uses take precedence.

PLNU Class Use

  • Faculty, staff, and students may request media equipment for delivery/pick up to PLNU classes.
  • Sound System needs for special class sessions please refer to the Event Use Policy.
  • Media Services does not normally provide media gear or sound systems for practices and rehearsals.
  • 24 business hours notice is required to guarantee delivery/pick up will be scheduled.
  • We will accommodate last minute requests (subject to equipment availability), although previously scheduled requests have priority for delivery and setup.

 

PLNU Smaller Meeting Spaces

  • Faculty, staff, and students may request one microphone and presentation equipment (i.e. data projectors, laptops, TV/DVD players) for delivery/pick for smaller PLNU meetings spaces.
  • 24 business hours notice is required to guarantee delivery/pick up will be scheduled.

 

PLNU Student Event Use

  • Events must be sponsored by the Associated Student Body.
  • Equipment must be booked, approved and scheduled by the Manager of Media Services or other full-time staff.
  • Equipment is provided at no charge.
  • Students do not hire/schedule media staff independently.
  • There is an hourly fee for student events that is charged to your account number - Student technician rates: (8am‑5pm) $15/hour, (after hours) $20/hour
  • A Media Services employee must deliver, operate, and return the equipment. <!--endif-->
  • Media Services does not normally provide media gear of sound systems for practices and rehearsals.
  • Please contact Media Services a minimum of one week in advance to reserve a technician's assistance for your event.

 

PLNU Staff/Faculty Sponsored Event Use

  • Events must be sponsored by PLNU.
  • Equipment must be booked, approved and scheduled by the Manager of Media Services or other full-time staff.
  • Items must not leave campus without notification and Media Services approval.
  • Equipment is provided at no charge.
  • There is an hourly fee for student events that is charged to your account number - Student technician rates: (8am‑5pm) $15/hour, (after hours) $20/hour
  • A Media Services employee must deliver, operate, and return the equipment.
  • Media Services does not normally provide media gear of sound systems for practices and rehearsals.
  • Please contact Media Services a minimum of one week in advance to reserve a technician's assistance for your event.

 

Public Use

  • All events must be contracted through PLNU Conference Services. (The Alumni Office contracts Alumni Lawn events.)
  • Equipment is billed through Conference Services. (Alumni Lawn events excluded.)
  • Equipment is billed at standard rental rates (opens as a PDF file) revised annually.
  • Equipment must be booked, approved and scheduled by the Supervisor of Media Services or other full-time staff.
  • Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Media Services does not rent equipment for off-campus events.
  • Please contact Media Services a minimum of two weeks in advance to reserve a technician's assistance for your event.

Equipment requested within 24 hours of the event may result in a $25.00 per-item late fee.
