Fall New Student Orientation is August 30-September 1, 2013
Classes begin September 4
A preliminary schedule for NSO follows. A more detailed version will be available when you check in at NSO. Families and guests of new students are invited to attend all sessions unless otherwise noted. (All General Sessions will be simulcast in Spanish.)
Friday, August 30, 2013 (for freshmen and transfer students)
8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. > Check-in
To streamline the move-in of 750 students, each student* is assigned a check-in time. It is important that you plan to arrive at that time. ID pictures will be taken during the check-in process so come prepared.
*Commuter and transfer students are also assigned a check-in time on the portal.
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Move-in
You will be able to move in after you have completed your check in at the Nicholson Commons.
9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. LEAP Orientation (Breakfast and lunch will be served)
Invitational event (families and guests are invited to attend).
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Lunch
Lunch will be available at each Residence Hall for those who receive an early check-in time.
2:00 p.m. - 3:45p.m. Commuter Student Bus Tour
Meet at the Nicholson Commons loading dock.
4 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. > General Session I - Welcome
Meet cabinet members Kerry Fulcher, Joe Watkins, Caye Smith, George Latter, and Mary Paul.
4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. > Your Academic Home
Various locations according to major.
5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Dinner
Dinner will be served between Cabrillo and Evans
6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Parent Connection Dessert Reception
PLNU's Parent Council is looking forward to meeting you.
6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. GAP (Get Acquainted Party) - Students Only
This session will give you an opportunity to meet some of your classmates.
8 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Time Out
An informal time of worship through song and hearing of the Word, Time Out takes place Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. weekly during the academic year. Lifestyle expectations will also be discussed at this event.
9:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Know Your Neighbor
