EDUCAP Perspective
The EDUCAP Perspective is the newsletter written to the members of Education Associates by the auxiliary president. This newsletter highlights recent EDUCAP scholarship winners, homecoming info, and other news that will grasp your interest. If you would like to read the latest edition of the newsletter, CICK HERE.
Scholarships/Grants
We interview for scholarships and grants at the three campuses. Here is a list of some of the scholarships and awards we offer:
Scholarships
The Reginald and Ruth Berry Memorial Scholarship
This is an endowed scholarship for anyone planning to enter the field of education at
any of the PLNU sites. Financial need is to be a consideration.
The Beryl and Hazel Dillman Scholarship
This is an endowed scholarship donated by Dr. Beryl and Hazel Dillman for a student
preparing to work in a public or private Christian school.
EDUCAP Scholarship
This is an award given through dues and donations of members of Education Associates.
Hart Education Associates/EDUCAP Scholarship
This scholarship is named for Chuck and Arlane Hart who donated the original money to
start it. This scholarship is given to anyone enrolled in an education program at any
of the PLNU sites.
The Hill Memorial Scholarship
Donated by Gary and Linda Talbert.Iin honor of Gary’s grandfather, this award is given
annually to a worthy student.
The Moulton Endowed Scholarship
Donated by Dr. and Mrs. Kimber Moulton, this annual scholarship is to assist
undergraduate students in teacher education.
The Ravi Patel Memorial Scholarship
This endowed scholarship is given in memory of Ravi Patel. This award is for a credential
or M.A. student.
Pearson Founders Scholarship
This award is in honor of Dr. Vern Pearson, the faculty advisory for the first Education
Associates Alumni Auxiliary. This award is given annually to an undergraduate or postbaccalaureate
credential student. Funds are raised through members of Education Associates.
Special Education Scholarship
This award is donated by Pat Petridis and Charles Ikerd, who are both special education
teachers, to a student preparing to teach in the field of special education.
The William and Thelma Rhone Graduate Education Scholarship
This award is given to a student taking their graduate work at PLNU’s Arcadia Regional
Center. The applicant must be working towards a graduate degree in education.
Awards
- Lighthouse – Outstanding leadership by alumni or PLNU education department faculty
- Vredevoe – Outstanding contribution to education by alumni or PLNU education department faculty.
