Mitrovich Memorial Journalism Scholarship

George Mitrovich loved many things – politics, a well-run government, baseball, PLNU – to mention a few. But he REALLY loved good journalism. That’s why his family wanted this scholarship. He wanted to encourage students – especially those who struggle financially – to go into this field that he loved so much and found so crucial to free society.

The PLNU journalism program was started in 1984 under the direction of Dr. Dean Nelson, and graduates are now in all aspects of journalism throughout North America. Every news outlet in San Diego has PLNU journalism graduates working there.
